NOTE: THE FOLLOWING IS A WORK IN PROGRESS AND HAS NOT BEEN FINALIZED
The Victorville switching district is made up of four primary industrial areas; Victorville, Oro Grande, Thorn and Hesperia. There are three locals that support these four industrial areas that all operate out of Victorville (VVC) along with three industry switchers. The locals R-CAL0041, L-CAL0101 and L-CAL0102 are all operated by a BNSF Crew out of the BNSF Local Yard office in Victorville. Two industries operate their own industry switchers to handle switching with-in their own plants. CEMEX (CMX) operates two industry switchers: L-CMXCMX is used to haul rock between the quarry and unloader with-in the plant and Y-CMXCMX is used to switch out the coal and cement hoppers in the designated loading and unloading sidings with-in the plant. Riverside Cement Plant (RSV) uses one industry switcher to switch out the cement loader and coal unloader.
Located at MP 21.6, WA Murphy is switched by L-CAL0102 on the return trip from Barstow to Victorville in the siding off Main 1.
Located at MP 31.3, Riverside Cement Plant is switched by Y-RSVRSV. The R-CAL0041 local brings inbound cars from Victorville and builds the outbound for the return trip to Victorville. Loaded coal unit trains also arrive from BNSF and UP and empty hoppers are returned to the mines via empty outbound unit trains.
